Putting

Putting
  • Birdie or better: putt it.
  • Par: gimme inside 1 foot.
  • Bogey: gimme inside 2 feet.
  • Double bogey: you should have picked up already.

Up in the fairway, down in the rough

Lie
  • Fairway: you may roll the ball.
  • Rough: play the ball as it lies.

Bunkers (sand)

Sand
  • Rake and place the ball in the bunker.
  • If embedded, place it in the bunker in a comparable lie.

Out of Bounds (white stakes)

OB
  • Out of Bounds is defined by white stakes.
  • Choose one:
    • Stroke and distance, or
    • Two-stroke penalty and place the ball in the fairway at the point it crossed out of bounds.
If a tee shot goes out of bounds, the next shot is stroke 4 from the fairway.

Red stakes with green/white tops

Restricted
  • These areas are out of play. Balls may not be retrieved from them.
  • One-stroke penalty. Drop one club length from the red stake.
Stance relief: if the ball is in play but your stance would be inside the restricted area, take a free drop at the nearest point where your stance is completely outside.

Unplayable lies (bushes, shrubs, etc.)

Unplayable
  • One-stroke penalty.
  • Drop the ball in the rough at the point where it entered the unplayable area.
(No two-club-length requirement.)
