Pairings
The official (and totally unbiased) pairings for the weekend.
-
Up in the fairway, down in the rough
- - In the fairway, you can roll your ball (not place it).
- - In the rough, play it as it lies.
-
Rake and place in the sand
- - embeded balls must be placed in similar location in the sand.
-
OB is defined by white stakes, stroke and distance or take 2 shot penalty and place the ball in the fairway where it went out of bounds (not where it came to rest).
- - this means you are hitting 4 from the fairway if your tee shot went out of bounds
- Red stakes with green or white tops are areas you cannot go into, even to get your ball. 1 stroke penalty and drop 1 club length from the red stake. If your ball is playable (on the good side of the red stake with colored top), but your feet would be in the restricted area, take a free drop at the closest point where your feet will not be in the restricted area.
- If you have an unplayable lie, such as being in a bush. Take your penalty stroke, but forego the 2 club length rule and just drop it in the rough near where you entered. Some areas have many bushes and 2 clubs wouldn't get you out.
